VRC in an Inn Setting
The Situation
A boutique hotel located in Groton, Massachusetts, provides a historical experience for customers throughout the state. First opened in 1678 as a residence for colonial Massachusetts citizens, as well as some famous historical figures and past presidents, the hotel has been recently rebuilt and renewed to its former glory after a fire in 2011.
During the rebuild, staff noticed there was a need for some quality-of-life improvements, specifically finding a way for kitchen staff to transport materials from the cellar to the kitchen. A general contractor reached out to Bode for the solution.
The Solution
Bode suggested a hydraulic vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC) for the application. This VRC would increase efficiency, ease-of-use for employees, as well as keep them safe from potential injury or harm from carrying boxes of materials up and down a staircase. It would also bring materials up to the kitchen faster and leave more time to cater to orders and customers, further increasing daily efficiency.
Bode decided on a Wildeck VRC for the installation, as it required some custom dimensions to fit the allotted space. Wildeck’s VRCs are well known for their efficiency and safety and are known for being customizable to the end user’s exact specifications. Wildeck provided the right VRC for Bode and this application, and a second VRC is on the horizon for the hotel.
“A Wildeck VRC was really the perfect application for this project, their hydraulic lifts are great for ground floor plus one applications like these.” – Christopher Pool, Project Manager.
