Could you give me a little background on yourself and who you are?
Amber: I graduated from NHTI in 2016 with my associate degree in general studies. I decided to go back to college in 2018 to get my bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources at SNHU. When I am not working, I am usually either playing soccer, going hiking, or biking!
Before joining Bode, what did your day-to-day work consist of?
Amber: Before Bode, I used to work Monday-Friday 7am-7pm. I was doing a five-person job, managing two people, and managing eight different accounts that was worth 8-9 million dollars a year. I worked with contractors and end-users directly, helping them figure out what they need/want for their projects. My process was to send the client a quote, once approved, I would create a sales order, cut purchase orders, get shipments out on time, then invoice the project out.
What was the reason you got into this profession?
Amber: I have always admired how the construction process works and wanted to learn more about construction. I thought this would be a great foot in the door to learn more in-depth about it. I also think there is potential to grow within the company.
What were some of your proudest career milestones before joining Bode?
Amber: The proudest career milestones I have is graduating SNHU with my bachelor’s degree and getting promoted twice in one year at my previous job. If I did not get my bachelor’s degree, I would not be where I am and have the knowledge that I have today. Having went to college, I understand how the business world works.
What would you say are your main strengths?
Amber: My main strengths are communication, multi-tasking, and organization. I try to communicate as much as possible with my co-workers and clients. I want to make sure they have as much information that I know. If there is proper communication, there will be better connections with people and projects will run smoothly.
Multi-tasking is one of my strongest suits. I can juggle more than one thing at once and not get lost. I make sure that I write things down for what needs to get done and prioritize them. If a client and/or co-worker needs something as soon as possible, I can drop what I am doing and help the client and/or co-worker. Once they are all set, I can get back to what I was doing and finish the project in a timely manner. This also helps me stay organized and focus.
Why did you choose Bode?
Amber: I chose Bode because the atmosphere is amazing here. When I went into my interview with Scott, he was so happy, and it made me think how I needed to make myself happy again and not dread going into work. It was a total culture shock that I needed!
What are some of your personal goals now that you are officially part of the Bode team?
Amber: My goal is to be able to understand more about construction and Bode’s products. I just want to keep learning and growing every day. I would also like to be able to handle projects on my own.
What are you most excited about now that you are part of Bode?
Amber: I am excited that I get to go onsite to see my projects and learn hands-on. I am also excited to that I can go into work every day happy!
