Utility Provider – Heavy-Duty Worktables
The client, a regional utility provider, was looking for a custom worktable/welding table solution for their maintenance area that would give employees a dedicated space to complete repairs, maintenance tasks, and part assembly.
The Problem
The client needed a durable, custom solution that could withstand the demands of a busy maintenance environment while also fitting seamlessly into their existing workflow and space requirements. Knowing the project required more than a standard off-the-shelf table, the customer partnered with BODE, knowing our in-house fabrication team had the experience and capabilities to bring their vision to life.
The Solution
Our in-house fabrication team quickly got to work designing a custom worktable, adhering to the client’s needs.
Discovery Phase
BODE’s sales and fabrication team partnered closely with the client to fully understand their application, workflow, and overall goals for the custom worktable. Starting with rough sketches and initial concepts, the team evaluated everything from material types and sizing to the level of durability required for the application, determining whether the table would need to support light, medium, or heavy-duty use in the maintenance area.
Once the design concept was finalized, our fabrication team created a detailed CAD drawing for customer review and approval. After the design was approved, materials were ordered, and the project moved into production.
Fabrication Phase
Once all materials arrived, BODE’s fabrication team began carefully cutting each component to the required dimensions before moving into the assembly process. Every piece was precisely positioned, clamped, and secured prior to welding to ensure the structure remained accurate, symmetrical, and free from warping caused by the intense heat generated during fabrication. This attention to detail helped ensure the finished table met both the customer’s dimensional requirements and durability expectations.

After welding was completed, the team shifted focus to the finishing process. Welds were cleaned and smoothed, surfaces were prepped, and the frame was painted to provide a clean, professional appearance and added protection against wear. To improve flexibility within the maintenance area, heavy-duty industrial casters were also installed, allowing the table to be easily moved and repositioned as needed.

Packing and Shipping Phase
After the paint dried and everything was in place, the custom worktable was carefully prepared for delivery. The finished unit was wrapped, protected, and securely palletized to help prevent any damage during transportation.
Using BODE’s flatbed truck, the team coordinated delivery directly to the customer’s site, ensuring the project was completed on schedule and delivered safely. The result was a fully customized, ready-to-use solution built to support the customer’s maintenance operations for years to come.
Why BODE?
Rather than ordering a standard, cookie-cutter worktable, our sales team leveraged the full capabilities of the BODE team to deliver a custom, cost-effective solution. By keeping every phase in-house, including the initial discovery, CAD drawings, fabrication, painting, and shipping, we eliminated outsourced expenses and minimized delays. This seamless internal integration represents the core value of BODE, providing our clients with a true one-stop-shop experience.
