After 50 years of hard work and dedication to the material handling and dock and door industry, Scott Rose has retired! We would like to thank Scott for his commitment and professionalism in serving all types of clients. Scott was and is a staple at Bode, and we wish him the very best!
A Brief Look at Scott’s Career
Scott started his career in the material handling industry with Service Handling Equipment Company (SHECO) as a sales representative in 1972, working alongside his parents and grandparents who were the founders of the company in 1956.
When Bode acquired SHECO in 2010, Scott transitioned seamlessly, becoming a senior outside sales representative for the company, while still working out of the old SHECO and now Bode Massachusetts branch office.
During Scott’s time with Bode, he has worked on numerous notable and interesting projects. Two projects Scott has worked on in recent years we would like to highlight are:
Integrating a Modular Office with a Mezzanine
A client needed new office space close to their facility processes while still having room for these same processes.
Scott proposed the idea to utilize the pre-existing overhead space. This was possible by installing a mezzanine creating a second level and integrating a modular office on top of the mezzanine to have room for both without having to expand and make the most out of their facility’s existing space.

Implementing a More Efficient Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor (VRC)
A client needed to upgrade their VRC. The facility’s current VRC was too big, too loud, and had a handful of restrictions including weight and lighting interfering with Mass state laws for elevator lifts.
Scott’s solution was to upgrade to a hydraulic VRC that took up less floor space and more than doubled the weight capacity improving overall efficiency and safety. This change not only satisfied state laws but most importantly satisfied the client!

Scott was always building strong relationships with his customers, as well as thinking of the best ways to benefit his customers, often-times going above and beyond to meet their needs.
